2023 Theme: Identity
This Competition is now closed. Winners to be announced in October.
Children's Day, celebrated on May 27th in Nigeria, is a momentous occasion dedicated to celebrating the joy, creativity, and potential of children and young people.
The Theme is Global Citizenship, highlighting the importance of fostering a sense of belonging and responsibility to the world among young people.
To mark this special day, Afrikindness UK, in conjunction with the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Nigeria , is excited to present the "Colours of Africa - Artistic Expression Extravaganza."
...Art is a powerful medium through which students can express their understanding of global issues. It transcends language barriers and connects people on an emotional level. By encouraging our students to create art that reflects their perspectives on global challenges, we provide them with a platform to voice their ideas, concerns, and solutions.
Through their paintings, drawings, sculptures, and digital creations, our students can convey messages that inspire change and foster a deeper understanding of the world. Art allows them to process complex issues creatively and share their vision for a better future. In doing so, they not only develop their artistic skills but also enhance their critical thinking, empathy, and cultural awareness...
Let's make Children's Day 2024 a memorable celebration of our heritage and the future of our children. Encourage your students to enter today and be part of this exciting initiative!
The theme "Colours of Africa" invites children in primary and secondary categories to create drawings or paintings that depict what Africa means to them.
Participating in the Colours of Africa competition not only allows children to showcase their artistic talents but also connects them to their roots, fostering a sense of pride and unity. This competition will also help children understand the concept of global citizenship by appreciating and celebrating the diversity within Africa.
